The BEST Mature Highlighting Tips

Highlighter is a wonderful makeup product. But, with mature and textured skin, we have to make sure we're using it strategically. Highlighter is used to draw your eye, so you want to make sure you're not accentuating skin issues. I'm sharing a video with some tips and tricks to make highlighter work FOR your skin and not against it.

Not only is application and placement of highlighter super important, but the product you pick and your tools come into play as well. Picking a good one will give your skin that subtle glow that we all want. I find that choosing a highlighter that is more nude than white gives my skin a glow without it being ghostly or drawing unwanted atttention to imperfections. For this video, I used both cream and powder highlighter.

My favorite area to highligh is the inner corner of my eyes. It really helps give your eyes a pop, which makes you appear more awake. I love the Catrice Magic Shaper Highlighter and Contour Stick and use the Sigma Shader Brush to apply it. I'll then add just a slim line under my brow brown to define my brows. I always highlight those two areas, if nothing else.

A few other areas I occasionally apply highlighter are the bridge of my nose and a small area on my cheeks. Since our noses continue to get larger as we age, I DO NOT apply highlighter on the tip of my nose like the younger girls are doing now. For my cheeks, I only apply a small bit to the upper portion of my cheeks. I make sure not to use too much because I want to make sure it doesn't settle into fine lines. Another area I will use highlighter is the center of my eyelid (occasionally). A light application just right in the center of the lid takes your eyes up a notch without having to spend a lot of time adding eye shadow. Making this perfect for parties.

You can watch the video here, and see my favorite highlighters and tools as well. I hope you found a few tips that will make you love using highlighter on mature skin.

Below is a pin for you to pin the post for later.

Thank you for being and as always, it would mean the world to me if you shared this with a friend.

God Bless you,

Dawn
